Improve spoken English has come up with an innovative game for improving your communication skills and fluency. The importance of playing English games cannot be denied for improving spoken English. The game discussed today is a topic game. It could be played with any number of candidates, but has to be more then one. If played in presence of a teacher, then it could yield the best results. The larger the number of participants the better the game would be.

The rules of this game are very simple and are detailed below. You may modify the rules as per your convenience.

Rule 1 for Topic Game
The number of students has to be more then one. Try to get maximum number of friends, to get the best output. The language of the game is purely English, so please no native languages.

Rule 2 for Topic Game
Each participant is supposed to think of a topic. It might be some review of a product, a personal experience or some funny incidents. Each candidate is supposed to speak on that topic for at least 2 to 3 minutes. If a teacher or a person good in English is also present, then it is very beneficial.

Rule 3 for Topic Game
Each candidate will be allotted a number, may be row wise, and he or she will speak on his or her turn. There are no questions allowed in between, as it may break the momentum of the speaker. The other candidates are supposed to be supportive and not make fun in case of a mistake in speaking English.

Rule 4 for Topic Game
The motive for the candidates whose turn has come, is to keep the listeners involved, and maintain their interest while they speak.

Rule 5 for the Topic Game
In case some other language apart from English is spoken by someone, then he or she would be supposed to do some eccentric tasks, like dance on a song, or sing a song for all in English.

You are free to modify the rules as per the number of students available and as per your comfort, but the language spoken throughout the game has to be purely English. This task is surely going to help all the students gain confidence and is a very good game for personality development. The main advantage is the shedding of fears, that is inherent to most of us for public speaking.

Today I will be discussing an effective game to build your vocabulary and enhance your spoken English capability. The game is a Vocabulary game, and it requires more then one person. Usually depending upon the number of persons available, two groups can be formed. The game is a simple one and it tests your knowledge of vocabulary, and also emphasizes on spoken English. This game is one of the way to improve your vocabulary and spoken English capabilities.

The rules of the game are simple and are detailed below.

Everyone will speak in English throughout the game. This is the most important rule as the main motive is to improve Spoken English.

First group will come up with a word, that they think is a difficult one to know. The second group is supposed to tell its meaning. If the meaning is correct, then 10 points will be awarded to that group. If the meaning is wrong or if they are not able to answer the meaning of that word, then 10 points will be subtracted from that group.

After that the second group will come up with a word from their knowledge of vocabulary, and the first group will be supposed to answer its meaning. The point allocation rules are again the same as applied to the first group.

This game could be played till the time both the group wishes, in the end the final total of the points will be made and the winner team will be declared. Again I would like to emphasize that throughout the game only English has to be spoken. There could be an extra rule that on speaking any other language apart from English, 10 points will be deducted from that team. It's a nice way to force both the teams to speak in English.

The main advantage of this Vocabulary game for improving spoken English is that while one team is coming up with one word, thereby testing their vocabulary, the other team has to come up with the meaning of that word. It implies that the other team has to know that word already, moreover they have to answer in English about the meaning of that word.

This helps in overall benefit to both the teams in terms of Vocabulary knowledge and improvement in Spoken English.
